Focus Reports Report Server

Focus Reports Report Server is part of Focus Reports Professional and is used to schedule, generate, batch, manage, and deliver reports using data from any MediSoft/NDCMedisoft data set. 

Automatic Report Scheduling

The Focus Reports Report Server is used for two primary tasks: Producing reports on a schedule and delivering reports to the people who need the information. Focus Reports Report Server is designed specifically for use with MediSoft software. The report server works with custom reports designed with Focus Reports Developer, the reports found in Focus Reports Report Packs, and included look-alike versions of standard MediSoft reports.

Scheduling Options

Focus Reports Report Server offers many options for scheduling the production of reports:

Server-based Report Generation

With Focus Reports Report Server, the report data processing and report generation activities are done by the file server computer. When a report is requested or scheduled, the server computer does the work necessary to prepare and assemble the data for the report. Users don't have to wait for reports to finish processing on their workstation computer before they are able to use it again. They can continue working even while complex reports are being generated on the server.

Once the report is finished running, report deliveries will occur as designated automatically.

Batch Report Processing

Schedule multiple reports to run at a specific time. For example, schedule all month-end reports to be processed at a given time each month. Once this is scheduled, all the reports will be generated automatically. There is no need to run report after report, printing some and emailing others. Let Focus Reports Report Server take care of these daily, weekly, monthly tasks. Schedule the batch to run with confidence knowing that Focus Reports Report Server will keep track of when the reports need to run and where they will be delivered when they are finished.

Focus Reports Report Server offers several methods of report delivery:

The report server includes Report Server Client software that is used to receive and view reports. The Report Server Client software periodically checks to see if a user has waiting reports. When a report is found, the client software notifies the user of a new waiting report. The client software also permits viewing of reports, reporting printing, and filing of reports in personalized file folders for future reference.

Email services in the report server produce reports in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format, then sends the reports to any number of email recipients.

Reports can be printed automatically on any printer on the network. Any printer available to the report server computer can be used to print a report.

Reports can be delivered to any number of recipients on a local area network combined with any number of email recipients and printed on a network printer.

System Requirements: MediSoft, MediSoft Advanced, MediSoft for Networks or MediSoft Network Professional version 7 or above. User’s computer must meet MediSoft hardware system requirements. If the report server is used on a computer not used for MediSoft, additional Advantage Database user licenses may be required.
